One Greater Nashua is a broad-based coalition of organizations and individuals seeking to improve health equity in Nashua and 10 surrounding communities by enhancing social inclusion and integration efforts.

Of the things that influence health outcomes, social factors account for 40 percent of a person’s health. If people feel more connected to their community and have better opportunity to participate and thrive, studies show that over time they will have better health outcomes and the entire community will be stronger for it. (Read more about the coalition’s background in our press release.)

Over the course of three years, One Greater Nashua proposes to:

  • Promote social inclusion and cross-cultural interaction at the middle school level through youth leadership development, community service, and family engagement strategies
  • Create a cultural navigators program that connects newcomers with the skills they need to succeed economically and socially, and expands opportunities for them to engage in the mainstream community by sharing their skills, talent, and ideas
  • Diversify civic leadership and engagement in the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greater Nashua program (LGN), and use LGN to promote culturally effective organizations
  • Establish Nashua Listens as an on-going forum for discussing community issues that affect all Greater Nashua residents
