Asset Building Coalition offers filing, help with tax credit eligibility

Al St. Onge assist local residents with their federal 2007 income tax
returns at the Nashua Public Library as a free service offered by the
Greater Nashua Asset Building Coalition, whose members include
United Way. In addition to filing assistance, the volunteers also
determine whether filers qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit,
which can be a substantial benefit for low-to-moderate income house-
holds. The Asset Building Coalition expects to serve at least 3,000
Greater Nashua area residents with tax preparation help this season,
up by more than 400 from last year. (Photo by Christina Caruso)
