Providing Effective Programs That Improve People’s Lives

Working with its partner non-profit agencies, United Way funds programs that address the most pressing needs in Greater Nashua. Volunteers review proposals submitted by local non-profit organizations and recommend funding levels based on the effectiveness of the programs and how well they address the needs identified in the Community Needs Assessment.

United Way’s Community Impact Fund supports effective local programs that provide:

A donation of just $5 per week provides four children with dinner for an entire month through the Girls Inc. Burke Street Café program.

United Way of Greater Nashua currently funds programs by the following non-profit organizations:

To help address food insecurity in Greater Nashua, United Way also has awarded funding to:

  • Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter
  • SHARE, Milford

United Way also participates in coalitions that aim to improve the quality of life in Greater Nashua by addressing long-term issues, such as:

  • Obesity prevention
  • Substance abuse prevention
  • Reduced health disparities among population groups
