Milford High School Gets Into the Holiday Spirit

The Executive Student Council of Milford High School & Applied Technology Center sponsors many community outreach fundraisers. We host an annual “No Shave November” event where participants grow beards in sponsorship of a charity, and 100 percent of the proceeds goes directly to that organization. Participants can choose any charity to support. This year’s charities included SHARE Outreach, Nashua Children’s Home, Nashua Soup Kitchen & Homeless Shelter,  and Milford Special Olympics, to name a few. Twelve participants (10 faculty members and two students) raised over $700 for seven charities (up from $471 last year).

In mid-November, the Executive Student Council sponsors an Annual “Giving Tree” to support SHARE Outreach of Milford and their annual Toy Store, which is an open marketplace for families to shop for children’s toys. This school-wide sponsored and supported event asks advisory groups, classes, students, and teachers to donate money to purchase a toy for a child. Now in our ninth year of sponsoring the Toy Store, we’re  focused on teenage gifts that include wallets, make-up, cologne, perfume, gift cards, athletic equipment, DVD’s, and similar items.

It is always heartwarming to see such an outpouring of support for our school community.
