Parents And Children Together with Teachers (PACTT)
PACTT (formerly known as PACT) is designed to strengthen the collaboration of parents, students, and the community in dealing with the tumultuous adolescent years. Each year, all seventh grade students in the Nashua schools and their parents are invited to attend this conference, which features presentations that promote health and well-being, better communication, and stronger relationships among teenagers and their parents.
UWGN, the Nashua School District, and the Nashua business community came together to sponsor the first PACTT conference in 1998 and have continued this collaboration to offer PACTT annually. UWGN supports such community collaborations that benefit area residents by taking an early intervention and prevention approach to addressing long-term health and human service needs. The 2008 PACTT conference was held March 11-13 at Nashua Community College.

Student Feedback
Thank you so
much for sponsoring PACTT. The program was very enjoyable and gave good
advice on making decisions in your life.
(In one workshop) "We talked about stereotypes that are used a lot
at my school. I learned that being different isn't bad and not to judge
people by their looks. The next time there is a 'new kid' at school, instead
of gossiping with my friends about rumors that I know aren't true, I'm
going to have a conversation with that person and see who he or she is
on the inside."
Katie S.
"Thank you for
sponsoring PACTT. My mom and I had a lot of fun listening to the speakers.
I think it is a great way to get teens with their parents."
Kay K.
"I think this
experience has helped to better the relationships between Nashua's youth
and parental bodies . . . One of the speakers I enjoyed talked about nutrition.
It was very interesting to know what was in the food we eat and the nutrition
facts and serving sizes of them."
Shaina S.
