Taking the Lead

Leadership givers - those making annual contributions of $1,000 or more - are vital to United Way's mission of meeting essential human needs in our community. Not only do these individuals provide major gifts, but they also serve as an example in civic-mindedness for others to follow.

In 2006, 980 individuals gave at the leadership level, contributing $1,613,356. Also in 2006, United Way of Greater Nashua had 10 gifts at the Alexis deToqueville Society level or higher.

Why We're Leadership Givers
by: Scott Comstock
ControlAir

It is people's compassion, brought to life through support of local health and human service organizations, which sustains the Nashua area and helps to shape its future. Sandra and I recognize the needs in our community are wide ranging and we are committed to doing our part in providing the direction and resources to meet them. We feel very lucky to have had many opportunities in our lives, but with opportunity comes obligation. We have chosen to contribute our time and financial support to local agencies and the many people that they serve. United Way is the most efficient and effective channel for directing our contribution to the most critical needs of our community, which ensures us that we are making an impact in the lives of those whom we most want to help. Sandra and I are proud to be among the leadership givers of United Way of Greater Nashua and we have faith in their mission of caring in the community.
