For more Day of Caring photos, view the album linked to our Facebook page Day of Caring 2009 is scheduled for Wednesday, 9/16/09. Day of Caring is a fantastic opportunity to work hard, get your hands dirty, and witness firsthand the great things non-profit agencies in the Greater Nashua area are doing! Day of Caring takes place each September. For one day, volunteers from companies in the Greater Nashua and Souhegan Valley area take the day off from work to volunteer at area non-profit organizations. United Way of Greater Nashua's 18th Annual Day of Caring is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2009. More than 300 volunteers will paint and clean up facilities, deliver meals to homebound elderly, and perform a variety of other services that the agencies often cannot complete due to lack of resources. AGENCIES: DOWNLOAD PROJECT FORM HERE. Instructions for Company Coordinators: The volunteer sign-up form (front and back, contained in an Excel file) may be photocopied or forwarded as many times as needed to accommodate your teammates. Please have each volunteer complete a form and sign the photo release. (NOTE: Volunteers completing forms electronically should save the file under a different name before sending it back to you. Forms submitted electronically will be considered as signed.) Be sure to have the volunteers list any health/medical needs that would prohibit them from performing certain jobs. Also, please have the volunteers list any special skills or equipment they are willing to share. The Day of Caring Committee will use these forms to match volunteers with specific agency jobs. Individuals should return their forms to you, the coordinator, NOT to United Way. Make copies for your own records and return ALL originals to United Way no later than Friday, July 24, 2009. Job matches will be announced at the Orientation Meeting to be held in late August (details coming soon).
