Planning underway for Day of Caring 2008 on Wednesday, 9/10/08.

Day of Caring is a fantastic opportunity to work hard, get your hands dirty, and witness firsthand the great things non-profit agencies in the Greater Nashua area are doing! Day of Caring takes place each September. For one day, volunteers from companies in the Greater Nashua and Souhegan Valley area take the day off from work to volunteer at area non-profit organizations.

United Way of Greater Nashua's 17th Annual Day of Caring is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2008. United Ways from across New Hampshire will mobilize about 2,600 volunteers to paint and clean up facilities, deliver meals to homebound elderly, and perform a variety of other services that the agencies often cannot complete due to lack of resources. More than 300 volunteers are expected to participate in Greater Nashua.

Documents that were emailed to company coordinators in late June include a cover letter, an info packet, a volunteer application form, and notice about an orientation session on August 21st.

Special thanks to our sponsors to date: BAE Systems; DJ Dave Entertainment; Kollsman, Inc.; the McLane law firm; Nashua Wallpaper Company; Pennichuck Water; Public Service of NH; St. Joseph Hospital; and UPS.
